Wine Tasting in Southern California

One of the many great things about living in LA is that you can drive a few short hours and been in the mountains, beaches, desert or country.  Franco and I love to drive up to the Santa Ynez wine country for the night and go wine tasting, stay at a cozy little hotel and have a great meal.
We stayed at the newly remodeled Fess Parker Inn.

The newly remodeled Fess Parker Inn is so great and I was pleasantly surprised at what a great job they did.  I love, love the lobby and the rooms are nice and cozy with fireplaces.
Our last visit to Santa Yñez a couple of weeks ago we wanted to go up and get some pumpkins, and visit the newly remodeled tasting room for Sanford Winery.  Sandford really did a great job with their new tasting room. The old one, quaint as it was, was too small the new one is much larger and looks out onto the vineyards.

We had dinner at the new restaurant Sides Hardware and Shoes (crazy name for a restaurant) the brothers from Mattei’s Tavern in Los Olivos.

The food was incredible and I heard they also have another restaurant Red Barn in Santa Ynez which is supposed to be equally as good… next time.  The main street in Los Olivos Grand Avenue which is super cute is filled with wine tasting rooms and darling shops.
